Freshening Up
Lately, I’ve found myself just pining for tangible change and a refresh. I’ve found myself constantly changing my website, my clothes in the shopping baskets of my online carts, thoughts on my hair going short (it’s the longest it’s been since college at the moment), etc. etc.
But I know there’s major change coming up ahead, and I’m wisening up to the notion of ‘let it happen’…
Here’s what I’m pining for and gazing at affectionately in the moment - buckle up, it’s a long one!
What’s in my Cart…
I know it’s cliche to do a ‘haul’ of what you’re wanting from online shopping, but these items are my new motivators to get back on track with some wellness goals I have outlined to be considered my monthly / bi-monthly ‘treats’ - at least until my birthday in a month ;)
The Internet’s latest Obsession
… is my obsession too.
Gen Z’s messiah, Emma Chamberlain, revealed her house this week and everyone - including myself - are loving the simple yet functional design she teamed with interiors and architecture firm Proem Studio on.
I especially love the green color of her kitchen… more on that later.

Shelve It
I grew up in a home and a household that placed a premium on reading and tangible books, so that’s important.
To me, a very full and robust shelving of books in a room (or multiple rooms) is a big time goal to have in a future home.
Some Examples…
Beata Heuman Interiors : always and forever will be, an inspiration
This family home in Maine has head-to-toe bookshelving
Oakley Moore’s Parisian project is the bookshelf / staircase
combo of the century
Sober October & Other Wellness Initiatives
My boyfriend and I are going in on a Sober October journey throughout the next few weeks.
Perfect timing ahead of a big move, big strides with my new (!) clients, and just to overall feel better and more in control of our bodies.
I’ve taken it a step further with some other daily initiatives to get myself back on track (with those monthly / bi-monthly ‘treats’ as incentives.
COVID lockdown had the opposite effect with me, where I was totally and wholeheartedly committed to the process of wellness and I’d like to get myself somewhat back to that place.
Here are some examples of what I’m working on:
Journaling gratitude in the AM & PM
Sticking with a skincare routine
Minimizing screentime, starting with no screens 30 minutes before bed
Working out for at least 1 hour per day (yes, I’m counting my walks with my dog)
5 pages of a book OR listening to at least 10 minutes of an audiobook (we’re listening to Harry Potter)
Wellness Programming & Content
In order to get myself in the headspace, I’m starting to turn my content consumption and social media to ‘wellness’ programming.
One of my favorites is Lucy Baker on TikTok
Lucy is a nutrition student in London, and her easily digestible (yes, it’s implied) content around healthy food and habits is a wonderful little delight in the TikTok space - plus, her posh and classic style helps.
The Color Green
Usually I have a fleeting moment with colors, but for whatever reason a dusty green has been a staple in all of my inspiration over the last few months.
My father’s favorite color was green, and I always considered it a nice color but never one I would yearn for or reach for when it came to clothing or the paint choices for my living spaces.
It’s a lucky color and one that has been utilized in color therapy (affectionately coined ‘chromatherapy’ by the professionals) as a color that symbolizes rebirth, freshening, change, and luck.
My father was an artist, so lived in a world of color, and so I would like to think this is his way of soothing me through these next few steps of big moves and changes.
Some favorite green items of the moment…
Farrow & Ball green paint - their colors are so saturated and calming.
This tabletop of terracotta & topiaries from Tara Guerard
St. Frank Textile’s Iris Cactus silk linen sheets - *adds to wishlist*
Louise Roe’s jewel glass vase - still an absolute favorite I have in my glass collection
